RPA & GenAI Automation Intern, Investment Services (Operations)

Investment Services (IS) is a strategic partner to our investment teams, delivering end‑to‑end investment support services that advance our investment strategies. With a strong focus on operational excellence and scalability through digital innovation, IS brings together a comprehensive suite of services spanning deal advisory, valuation, trade and life cycle operations, enterprise and core data management, data and analytics enablement, investment accounting, and sustainability reporting to drive business outcomes.

The Operations team manages and delivers end‑to‑end trade support and settlement activities efficiently, while maintaining strong compliance, risk management and control standards. The team also manages relationships with external service providers such as banks, trading partners and other trade support service providers. 

You will join the Investment Services team to design and roll out automation solutions using Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and GenAI, with the goal of digitizing and streamlining manual processes. This role offers exposure to both business operations and technology and is ideal for someone who enjoys solving real‑world problems using data, automation and AI. 

Responsibilities

• Develop a strong understanding of end-to-end business processes and requirements across trade support and related activities.
• Research, design and prototype RPA and GenAI solutions to automate and optimize operational workflows.
• Automate trade capture in SimCorp Dimension (SCD) by:
  • Using RPA and GenAI tools to parse unstructured trade details into structured, system readable formats.
  • Ensuring data accuracy, completeness and exception handling in automated workflows.
• Implement robust monitoring, logging and alerting for automation solutions to support reliable, continuous use across a wide variety of scenarios.
• Prepare clear technical and process documentation to support ongoing maintenance, handover and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate closely with Operations and other stakeholders to gather user requirements, validate solutions, and support change management and user adoption.
• Apply Agile delivery practices (e.g., sprints, stand ups, retrospectives) in planning and delivering automation initiatives

Learning & Development Opportunities

• Business knowledge in funds processing and investment operations.
• Practical experience in Robotic Process Automation (RPA), including design, development, testing and deployment.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
• Proficient in at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python, R, SQL, or Excel VBA).
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong coordination and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines.
• Highly professional and discreet, with the ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive projects.
• A team player with a pleasant disposition, able to collaborate effectively within and across teams.

• Comfortable working with data, search engines, and databases; basic web scraping experience is a plus.
• Experience using GenAI tools to automate or streamline tasks (e.g., extraction, summarization, classification).
• Knowledge of investment operations (trade capture, lifecycle, settlement, funds processing).”
