Introduction

The Investor Stewardship (IS) function within Temasek is accountable for various aspects of the exercise of rights and responsibilities that come with owning securities in our investees. It involves engaging with the investee’s management and board of directors on various issues that may affect the long-term value and performance of the company, such as strategy, governance, risk management, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors, and capital allocation.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Temasek’s voting guidelines, policy, and platform.
  • Assist in coordination and managing voting escalations.
  • Conduct research, analysis and benchmarking on emerging governance and stewardship trends, best practices, risks, and opportunities and their implications for long-term value creation.
  • Support set up of database documenting context and deliberation of voting guidelines in different jurisdictions (Singapore, US, China, EMEA, and India).
  • Prepare and deliver reports and presentations on our stewardship activities and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing degree in International Relations, Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Accounting or related fields 
  • Relevant experience in proxy voting or investment stewardship or public policy or compliance would be a plus 
  • Keen interest in corporate governance laws, regulations, and standards in Singapore, EU, and the US and developments in these areas is preferred. 
  • Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with various stakeholders.
