The ESG Investment Management team (ESG IM) is a part of the Portfolio Strategy & Risk Group which provides guidance on Temasek’s strategic direction and portfolio objectives. ESG IM partners closely with teams across the Investment Group, the Sustainability Group as well as the broader company to advance ESG as a core engine across Temasek’s global investments and to drive sustainable outcomes that go hand in hand with financial returns. In addition to deepening and expanding ESG integration to both manage risks and drive value creation across the portfolio, the ESG IM team supports portfolio transition to meet Temasek’s climate and broader sustainability goals.
Job Description:

Conduct detailed research and analysis on ESG topics in support of ESG due diligence on new investment targets, or to guide internal framework development

Assess portfolio companies on their climate transition readiness, ESG maturity level and opportunities for ESG value creation in support of engagement of portfolio companies

Support the analysis of carbon emissions performance and trends for Temasek and our portfolio companies

Perform research in evolving standards/frameworks/tools on ESG and climate action

Maintain dashboards, tools and trackers which support team activity

Assist in the preparation of presentations, research reports and background analysis as needed
Qualifications/ Capabilities:

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree

Prior experience in ESG and sustainability is preferred but not a must
-
Passion in ESG and sustainability with a strong willingness to learn

Excellent analytical, quantitative, data and communication skills

Demonstrate understanding of the linkages between ESG and a company’s business model and operations.
