Introduction
Investment Stewardship plays an important role in driving long term capital value across Temasek's investments. We advance strong governance practices and deepen capital markets access across our Temasek portfolio companies. We engage with our companies, institutional investors, brokers, governance standard setters and regulators, translating insights into sustainable value outcomes.
This role offers first-hand exposure to how a global investor evaluates boards, management incentives, shareholder rights and market expectations to support long-term value creation across its portfolio companies.
Responsibilities

Conduct research on global governance trends, including board composition, executive remuneration, shareholder rights, proxy voting policies and regulations, as well as investor expectations across the US, Europe and Asia markets

Support portfolio company engagement by preparing governance diagnostics, peer benchmarking and briefing materials on board effectiveness, incentive structures and shareholder value alignment

Participate in selected discussions with governance thought leaders, proxy advisors, peer investors, regulators, exchanges and internal stakeholders; help translate takeaways into practical recommendations for portfolio engagement

Help track stewardship activities, engagement outcomes and emerging themes to inform portfolio priorities
Requirements
- Able to commit full-time for a minimum of 20 weeks. Interns who are able to commit to a full-time (5 days/week) or a minimum of part-time (4 days/week) internship is strongly preferred.
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Public Policy, International Relations, Political Science, Law, Business, Accountancy, Economics or a related field
- Genuine interest in corporate governance, board effectiveness, shareholder rights, public policy, and responsible investing
- Strong research and analytical skills, with attention to detail and the ability to distil complex material into clear insights
- Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with various stakeholder
