Associate, Investment (Private Equity Funds Investments)

Responsibilities
• Identifying and assessing investment opportunities in private equity funds and companies spanning a range of industries and transaction types
• Performing deal evaluation, due diligence, industry/company analysis and financial modelling
• Participate in due diligence of investment opportunities (funds, direct co-investments, secondaries), including assessing valuations, financial modelling, drafting investment papers and presenting investment recommendations
• Monitoring and performance tracking of investee funds, direct co-investments and secondaries. Supporting preparation of internal reporting documentation
• Monitoring market trends and closely tracking existing portfolio assets to support investment/divestment decisions
• Constantly developing and renewing industry/sector knowledge as well as macro and regulatory changes
• Establishing and cultivating relationships with GPs, companies, corporate partners and other relevant institutions
• Work with senior investment team members to identify and source investment opportunities
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree with 1 to 2 years of work experience with a Private Equity Fund of Funds, Secondaries, top-tier private equity, investment banking, or research firm
• Strong analytical insight and spreadsheet modelling skills, as well as a strong understanding of financial statements
• A passion for and a prior understanding of the private equity landscape
• Desire to develop/maintain relationships with intermediaries and private equity firms
• Ability to collaborate and work in a diverse, fast-paced environment
• Must be a good team player with an ability to work in a diverse team, across various time zones
• Must have a strong willingness to travel and to work across different offices and timezones

• Communication skills – Ability to effectively formulate and articulate opinions in English, both verbally and in written form
• Analytical and critical thinking – Ability to identify and summarise key investment considerations and risks. Ability to participate in a constructive review and debate of the merits of an investment and to be challenged on a point of view
• Strong technical and analytical skills – financial modelling, company research, investment memo preparation, presentation
• Good interpersonal & team skills – Comfortable with consensus decision-making and working in a cross-border, multi-cultural team-based environment

• Prior knowledge of the European or US Private Equity fund market a plus
