Corporate Legal Counsel (3 to 6 years PQE)

Introduction
We are a global investment house seeking to hire a commercially minded and solutions-oriented transactional lawyer to join our in-house legal team in Singapore. We welcome candidates from both private practice and in-house backgrounds. For those currently in-house, prior training and experience at reputable law firms is required.
The ideal candidate would be a M&A or private equity lawyer trained at a top-tier international or Singapore law firm and/or investment firm. Experience with fund investments, fund formation and co-investments will be a strong advantage, given the growing volume of work in this area.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice, guidance and support to investment teams on transactions, including public and private M&A, fund investments and co-investments, and venture capital and growth-stage investments. The candidate will work closely with investment teams to ensure transactions are executed efficiently, consistently to a high standard, and in line with internal policies and best market practice. He or she will continue to be involved in legal aspects of portfolio management work.
- Manage external counsel efficiently whilst ensuring high service delivery levels, acting as a quarterback for transactions with oversight of deal process to ensure legal risk is managed effectively.
- Work closely with Regulatory and Compliance colleagues and other control functions with respect to all matters relevant to transactions, including monitoring key regulatory and legislative developments in major markets such as the US which may impact the firm.
- Help to develop, maintain and refine legal templates, playbooks and SOPs.
While the above scope of work provides an overview of the types of work performed, other job-related duties may be assigned as required.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with strong academic credentials and admission in Singapore, another leading Commonwealth jurisdiction or the United States.
- 3 to 6 years PQE.
- Significant transactional legal experience, ideally gained at a leading law firm and/or in-house within a financial institution or investment platform.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a lean and high-performing legal team as well as other internal stakeholders.
