Introduction

Investment Services (IS) serves as a value partner by delivering end-to-end investment support services to advance investment strategies. With a focus on operational excellence and scalability through digital innovation, IS bring together all investment support services spanning from deal advisory, valuation, trade and life cycle operations, enterprise and core data management, data and analytics enablement, investment accounting and sustainability reporting to deliver business outcomes.

 

The DAE team enables efficiency and scalability through data and digital innovation by establishing, trusted data foundations aligned to business outcomes. The team also enable self-service analytics and actionable insights with institutional data product harmonised analytical layer.  

Responsibilities
  • Be the key liaison for the external information vendors; supports existing data and digital innovation contract renewals, and future expansion and new demands.
  • Total Relationship management with our strategic data vendors; Be responsible for managing these relationships including contract negotiations for new subscriptions, renewal or termination.
  • Expand Data Sourcing Services to the wider Investment Group biz units. Onboarding BU managed data contracts and provide data sourcing support. Work with users to identify future needs, and gaps or duplication in information services.
  • Managed > 100 data vendor contracts renewals (including newly onboarded contracts). Ensure ongoing compliance with contractual terms, including usage restrictions, data distribution rights, and renewal schedules.
  • Retrospective contract governance and due diligence for the expanded coverage; new Alternate Data process extending to “tradition” market data providers/contracts.
  • Extend contractual support beyond data subscriptions to new Digital Innovation & Business Integration initiatives [e.g. SaaS software, solution service contracts].
  • Collaboration with Investment Group Office on Expert Network optimization, vendor landscapes and renewals.
  • Regularly monitor usage of these services to optimize their use across the firm. Drive and support data optimization programs (e.g. Bloomberg DataFeed etc).
  • The function will simultaneously need to provide suitable compliance oversight to ensure adherence to vendor terms and conditions. This will require significant interaction with internal groups to educate and manage operating behaviours.
  • Commercial Management will require undertaking demand challenges with vendors as well as internal business groups to ensure effective cost-control, identification of saving opportunities and the consolidation/rationalisation of products. 
Requirements
  • BS in Science/Quantitative/Engineering/Computing or Business Administration or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a data management role, in Investment Asset Management industry will be an advantage
  • Notably strong commercial  skills and a good knowledge of compliance ideally from a market data background
  • Possess a strategic focus with the ability to analyse, understand of the data & investment business, formulate, and implement data sourcing strategies
  • Results orientated with an attention to detail and accuracy (For internal screening only) Demonstrated experience with Bloomberg, S&P, FactSet, Refinitiv and MSCI tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Driven, self-starter, adaptable, organised, with experience and ability to multi-task well in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Have good interpersonal skills and be able to work well as part of different teams and deal with multiple stakeholders
  • Results orientated with an attention to detail and accuracy
