Introduction

We are seeking to hire a Front office support to Temasek’s Public Markets US team, to strengthen our global execution capabilities. The Public Markets US team is part of the Investment Group, and is responsible for advising on US investments and investment strategy. This role will sit in Singapore to help the US team with execution and operational processes and to liase with Singapore based corporate functions. This role will provide exposure to the investment process, how different equity instruments like single stocks, baskets, ETFs and Futures are traded and the operational processes behind the investment function.

 

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, with the strong desire to own their work product.  He/she should have excellent attention to detail and have a keen sense of curiosity to drive internal process enhancements through automation. He/she should be team oriented and work well within different project teams across different functions, with proficiency using Microsoft, PowerPoint, and Excel.

 

This Singapore-based position supports our New York based team and requires alignment with US business Hours. The standard working schedule is Mondays to Fridays, 1.30 PM to 10.45 PM Singapore Time (SGT)

Responsibilities

Manage pre trade logistics prior to execution

  • Assist trading desk on workflow and coordination of internal logistics with various teams (Ops, Legal, Risk, Compliance)
  • For new investments, working through operations processes for adding new securities and ensuring internal systems & teams are properly set up to trade.
  • Run simulation to generate trading orders, and work with Compliance team to investigate hard blocks
  • Perform compliance checks for new counterparties and portfolio of stock holdings
  • Keep track of upcoming corporate actions for live trades

 

Manage post trade operations and execution tracking

  • Assist with trade booking, data enrichment and compiling of execution report summaries
  • Support the desk with data analytics construction and refreshing regular execution related dashboards/reports for circulation
  • Upkeep and maintain existing trade execution blotter and reporting systems
  • Coordinate operational work around ongoing commission sharing programs
  • Ensure data quality and consistency of trades across various systems

 

Other ad-hoc projects

  • Extract data from various sources and support the preparation of internal presentations and analysis
  • Refresh, upkeep and circulate internal analytics templates
  • Work with other internal stakeholders to enhance internal processes through automation and document new SOPs
  • Support various areas of work around business systems upgrade

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of working experience in a front or middle office support role
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Capable of handling large datasets
  • Proficient in generating visual analytics
  • Self-motivated with good communication skills to push team agenda in cross-functional projects
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to operate in time-sensitive environments
