Global Operations (GO) serves as a value partner by delivering end-to-end investment support services to advance investment strategies. With a focus on operational excellence and scalability through digital innovation, GO bring together all investment support services spanning from deal advisory, valuation, trade and life cycle operations, enterprise and core data management, data and analytics enablement, investment accounting and sustainability reporting to deliver business outcomes.
Global Transaction Services
The Global Transaction Services Team (GTS) manages and delivers E2E trade support and settlement activities in an efficient manner whilst ensuring effective compliance and controls. The team also manages and maintains our institutional relationships with service providers such as banks, trading partners and other trade support services.
The Role
The Fund Repatriation Associate will play a critical role in ensuring proceeds received are identified, validated and repatriated in a timely and controlled manner to support effective cash management, governance and accurate records.
Responsibilities
Monitor and validate SPV cash movements
- Monitor SPV bank accounts and incoming cash movements periodically to identify proceeds requiring repatriation
- Assess the nature of proceeds to determine the appropriate repatriation route, considering operational, tax/regulatory and governance requirements
- Ensure timely identification and validation of all cash receipts across multiple SPV entities
Execute repatriation transactions with accuracy and control
- Partner closely with Tax and Treasury to confirm repatriation structure and receiving instructions (e.g., upstreaming method, timing, currency/FX approach)
- Execute repatriation transactions through the firm's investment processing systems, ensuring accuracy of amounts, value dates, beneficiary details
- Maintain proper documentation and adherence to internal governance and control requirements for all repatriation activities
Provide reporting and drive process improvements
- Provide status on repatriation status, outstanding items/ageing when requested by Treasury Team
- Work closely with Treasury team to ensure efficient cash repatriation flows and resolve any bottlenecks
- Identify opportunities to streamline, automate and improve the efficiency of the repatriation processes
Requirements
- Degree holder with 2 to 4 year (Associate) / 5 to 7 years (Senior Associate) of relevant working experience in middle / back office operations and cash management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to assess the nature of different proceeds and determine the most appropriate repatriation route, considering operational, tax, and regulatory implications
- Exceptional attention to detail and process discipline to ensure transactions are executed accurately and in a timely manner
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills to work effectively with Tax, Treasury, and other stakeholders
- Systems and process mindset with comfort working with investment processing systems and ability to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements
- Strong ownership and accountability mindset, taking responsibility for ensuring proceeds are monitored and repatriated promptly
- Highly organised with ability to manage multiple SPV transactions simultaneously while ensuring timelines and priorities are met
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Committed and willing to learn; a team player with initiative and ownership mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 Office
- Strong knowledge in data literacy is an advantage
- Proficient in data visualisation and analytics tool such as Qlik Sense and Tableau will be an advantage
