About the Role

The incumbent will join the Temasek Associate/Senior Associate Programme (TAP), a structured early career opportunity for high potential graduates eager to launch a buyside investment career. Designed for curious, driven self-starters, the programme builds strong investment fundamentals through hands-on exposure, rigorous critical analysis, and real decision making alongside experienced investment professionals. You will be expected to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled tools to enhance investment research, market intelligence, and due diligence — developing skills that are increasingly critical for investors today. High-performing Senior Associates may be offered the opportunity to convert to a permanent role upon successful completion of the programme.

 

Programme duration: up to 20 months (ending 31 March) and extendable for another 24 months, depending on entry grade and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Taking part in identifying key sectoral developments and assessing fund and direct investment opportunities in the early stage/high-growth sector;
  • Conducting research and financial analysis on assigned sub-sectors and relevant companies and funds;
  • Developing financial models and presentations for internal evaluation and investment committees;
  • Structuring and consummating new fund and direct investments as well as pursuing divestments where appropriate;
  • Monitoring existing portfolio assets and new investments (where applicable) against investment theses;
  • Establishing and cultivating relationships (including travel) with companies, fund partners, research analysts and other relevant institutions; and
  • Assisting with team’s regular portfolio reporting and periodic firm-wide strategic initiatives.

Who Should Apply

Candidates with:

  • Excellent academic qualifications in any discipline and passion for investing.
  • 1-2 years of working experience in venture capital/private equity, investment banking, corporate finance, consulting, asset management, corporate/business development, operational and/or other related backgrounds.
  • High level of interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within diverse teams and collaborate across multiple stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and to work independently.
  • Familiar with use of appropriate electronic data sources (e.g. Bloomberg, Factiva, Capital IQ, etc) for business and industry information research and productivity tools (e.g. Microsoft Office, Pitchbook, Preqin, etc).

 

Salary Range: Base salary of US$120K – US$175K per annum (compensation structure includes various additional incentives payable in April annually)
