Introduction

Temasek is building next‑generation data and AI capabilities to enable forward‑looking workforce and talent decisions. We are seeking an Associate, Data Scientist (Contract) to support the development of predictive analytics, data‑driven AI solutions and trusted people data foundations.

 

This role sits within the Organisation & People (O&P) function and works closely with data scientists, product managers and business stakeholders to deliver hands‑on analytics, data preparation and AI experimentation that support enterprise decision‑making.

Responsibilities

Data Science & Predictive Analytics

  • Support the design, development and testing of predictive models for workforce planning, talent insights, skills analysis and related use cases.
  • Apply statistical and machine‑learning techniques to analyse people data and generate meaningful insights.

 

AI & Data Solutions

  • Assist in the design, development, training and continuous improvement of data and insights agents that automate analysis and surface actionable outputs.
  • Support the development of agentic AI workflows to enable autonomous analysis, insights generation and decision support for O&P use cases.
  • Contribute to the monitoring, maintenance and optimisation of AI agents to ensure performance, reliability and alignment with business use cases.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of connected data models (e.g. graph-based representations) used for AI-ready analytics.

Data Management & Quality

  • Perform data ingestion, validation, reconciliation and quality checks across multiple people data sources.
  • Support the upkeep of data models, data dictionaries and access controls to ensure data is accurate, secure and fit for use.
  • Work with technology and governance teams to comply with data and AI standards.

 

Visualisation & Insight Delivery

  • Build and maintain data visualisations and dashboards (e.g. Tableau, Qlik Sense) to communicate insights clearly.
  • Use tools such as Streamlit to prototype analytics applications and support solution delivery.

 

Collaboration & Delivery

  • Work with O&P stakeholders to translate business questions into analytical tasks and data solutions.
  • Support proof‑of‑concepts, experimentation and iterative improvement of AI‑enabled people solutions.

Requirements

Technical Skills

  • Working proficiency in Python for data analysis and basic machine‑learning workflows.
  • Exposure to Streamlit or similar frameworks for data applications.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Qlik Sense).
  • Understanding of data modelling (relational and/or graph‑based).
  • Exposure to large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering or agent-based AI frameworks is an advantage.

 

Experience & Background

  • Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 1–3 years of experience (or strong internship/project experience) in data science, analytics or AI roles.
  • Exposure to data governance, access control or privacy considerations is an advantage.
