Introduction

The BCP & Physical Security Officer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing the organization’s business continuity plans (BCPs), while also overseeing the physical security framework of all facilities and personnel. This dual-role position ensures the organization is resilient to disruptions and protected from physical threats. The officer ensures organizational resilience, employee safety, and operational continuity in the face of disruptions both locally and abroad.


The successful candidate will work closely with the BCP Team and Admin team to prepare for, manage and recover from contingency events that will affect the ordinary course of Temasek’s business and operations. 

Responsibilities

Business Continuity Planning

  • Conduct regular review and update BCP strategies, plans, and recovery protocols.
  • Support the conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIA) and risk assessments.
  • Support the conduct of cross-departmental BCP drills and simulation exercises.
  • Maintain documentation of BCP policies, procedures, and recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with IT to align BCP with disaster recovery (DR) protocols.
  • Support compliance with BCP requirements/applicable frameworks
  • Support the conduct of training for BCP coordinators and Emergency Response Team
  • Support the management of BCP assets and inventories.

 

Physical Safety and Security

  • Design and implement security policies for facilities and personnel
  • Ensure that facilities and personnel safety and security procedures and protocols are in place
  • Oversee all physical security systems, such as access controls, CCTVs and intrusion detection
  • Conduct regular site security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Manage relationships with security vendors, security personnel and outsourced guard services
  • Respond to incidents, breaches or emergencies with appropriate escalation
  • Perform the role of Chief Fire Warden and coordinating the training of fire safety wardens and emergency evacuation plans
  • Train employees on emergency evacuation procedures and physical security awareness.
  • Work with Admin and the Facilities Management team on routine work safety and office physical security matters
  • Work closely with the Health & Safety officer to conduct monthly safety inspection.

Contingency planning for overseas travel

  • Develop and maintain pre-travel risk assessments for high-risk destinations.
  • Establish travel safety protocols, emergency response procedures, and evacuation plans.
  • Monitor geopolitical, health, and environmental risks in key regions.
  • Maintain a travel tracking system to support real-time communication with traveling staff.
  • Collaborate with O&P and travel management teams to enforce travel safety SOPs.
  • Liaise with embassies and third-party security providers for crisis support.

 

Contingency Operations

  • Develop, implement, and test contingency operation plans to ensure business continuity during crises.
  • Support and coordinate crisis response teams and emergency action protocol
  • Serve as point of contact during operational disruptions by incidents/crisis.
  • Maintain real-time incident monitoring tools/crisis dashboard and updates  
  • Ensure continuity of operations (COOP) and alternate site readiness.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Risk, Business Continuity, or related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in BCP, physical security, or crisis management
  • Familiarity with ISO 22301, NIST, or local regulatory frameworks
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CBCP, CITBCM, CPP, PSP) will be preferred
  • Relevant experience working in multinational, government or law enforcement will be preferred
  • Willingness to be on-call 24/7
