Introduction

The Governance and Technolaogy team serves as a key pillar within the Financial Management (FM) function, dedicated to building a secure, efficient, and compliant environment through integrated platforms and robust Data Governance. We manage the ongoing operations of Workday Finance with our partners, including system configuration, security access, compliance, and new feature enablement. By working closely with internal teams and external service providers, we continuously drive process improvements and automation to elevate operational excellence.

The Role:

This is a Leave of Absence cover role to maintain operational continuity across Finance system operations, testing, and data workstreams, while absorbing BAU responsibilities to enable the permanent team to focus on strategic deliverables, including UAT for Workday/Snowflake releases and short-term data and documentation clean-up initiatives.

As a Functional Business Analyst in the G&T team, you will manage day-to-day Finance system operations and support project activities across Workday Finance, internet banking platforms, and automation tools. You will also support stakeholder communications and coordination for project initiatives, using AI and technology tools to improve follow-through and efficiency. The role requires someone who communicates with clarity and professionalism, and maintains strong follow-up discipline.

Responsibilities

System Operations, Testing & Project Support

  • Absorb BAU responsibilities across Finance system operations, including configuration, issue resolution, user support, and management of service requests, change requests, and user access reviews.
  • Support end-to-end UAT for Workday/Snowflake new features and releases, including test preparation, execution, defect management, and sign-off coordination.
  • Assist in project delivery across requirements gathering, documentation, testing, deployment readiness, and post-implementation support.
  • Leverage AI and technology tools to improve testing efficiency, issue tracking, and project coordination.

Data Management, Reporting & Automation

  • Support data clean-up, quality remediation, and stocktake of process documentation and SOPs, with the objective of achieving clean, well-governed, and structured data ready for AI training and analytics.
  • Support automation and digital enablement initiatives to reduce manual effort, including AI-enabled solutions where relevant.

Communications & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Support and track stakeholder communications, responses, and action items for project initiatives and operational changes, using tools such as Microsoft Forms, SharePoint, and Power Automate to manage follow-through.
  • Ensure all communications are clear, concise, and professional, avoiding ambiguous or informal messaging that may cause misalignment.

Requirements

Academic & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in ERP system support, business analysis, or data management.
  • Experience or working knowledge of Workday Finance is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Prior experience supporting UAT, defect management, and post-go-live stabilisation is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Agile and SDLC methodologies, data clean-up, and process documentation exercises is an advantage.
  • Ability to leverage AI and technology tools to improve productivity, work quality, and communication effectiveness is a strong plus.

Soft Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and professional communications tailored to different stakeholder groups.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.
  • Strong follow-up discipline to track open items, manage deadlines, and escalate risks appropriately.
